Jay Leemaster, M.D. Ophthalmologist

Responsibility
Dr. Leemaster is the owner and CEO of Eye Care Oklahoma, Inc., originally opening the practice in 1984. He also provides medical eye care in the Moore office location, treating such conditions as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye care.

Education
Dr. Leemaster is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He received his M.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma School of medicine and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Southern California.

Professional Affiliations
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the Oklahoma State Medical Association and the Cleveland-McClain County Medical Society

Ben J. Harvey, M.D. Ophthalmologist


Responsibility
Dr. Harvey joined Eye Care Oklahoma in July 2012. He is the only private practicing glaucoma specialist in the Oklahoma City area, providing patients with the most cutting edge technology for evaluating and treating glaucoma.

Education
Dr. Harvey is a board certified ophthalmologist. He completed medical school at Texas Tech University, and continued with a residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Ophthalmology. He then completed a fellowship in Glaucoma at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida.

Research
During his education, residency, and fellowship, Dr. Harvey completed several research projects including SLT as initial, repeat and adjunct therapy in the treatment of glaucoma. His research has appeared in the Journal of Glaucoma.

Dr. Harvey is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Lisa Mayes, O.D. Optometrist

Responsibility
Dr. Mayes provides primary eye care in the Moore office for Eye Care Oklahoma. She performs comprehensive eye examinations, glasses prescriptions, contact lens fittings, diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, and treatment of minor ocular emergencies.

Education
Dr. Mayes received her O.D. at the Northeastern State University College of Optometry. She completed her externship in ocular disease at the Muskogee VA hospital.

Research
Dr. Mayes participated in a research project studying the visual disorders associated with learning disabilities and optometric tests used for diagnosing these conditions. She also participated in a research project studying the visual outcomes and success of fitting popular brands of soft bifocal contact lenses.

Professional Affiliations
She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians, and was actively involved in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development as a student.

Beth L. Burkhart, O.D. Optometrist


Responsibility
Dr. Burkhart provides primary eye care in the Moore location. She performs comprehensive eye examinations, glasses prescriptions, contact lens fittings, diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, and treatment of minor ocular emergencies.

Education
Dr. Burkhart completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma and her optometry degree at Northeastern State University.
